#MentallyStrongWhileLearning

Being locked in your own house isn’t an ideal way to spend the time learning as a student while parents are delighted with this development. Being forced towards the new normal had been an issue for students who used to go out after a long day in class as a fresh breath of air. As a result of excessive screen time and academic pressure, many people have developed physical and mental health issues.

Mental health awareness is bringing people towards the light to be educated and not to be taken lightly. As a start, you should have the knowledge to understand what impact does mental health have on others. With this, here are things to do when someone is mentally struggling:

Lend a shoulder to lean on

Sometimes listening is enough. When the other person isn't ready to talk about it, avoid confrontation or pushing the topic. Allow them to take their time and choose whether or not to open the door with you waiting on the other side.

It never hurts to ask

Ask about what you can offer to help. Gently reassure the person who you are and why you are there. Recognize how they feel, rather than reinforcing or dismissing their experiences.

Keep an open mind

Take your time to comprehend. We may not realize it, but we occasionally use expressions carelessly that add to the negative baggage that comes with their mental health.

“Emotional pain is not something that should be hidden away and never spoken about. There is truth in your pain, there is growth in your pain, but only if it’s first brought out into the open.”

— Steven Aitchison
